Best time to honeymoon in Bali
Bali is tropical and warm all year — the variable is rain and crowds, not temperature. Days sit around 86–88°F almost every month.
- May – June — Best overall: dry, less humid, and priced below the July peak. Ideal for a two-centre Ubud-plus-island trip.
- July – August — Driest and sunniest but also the busiest and most expensive, with European school holidays filling the south.
- September – October — Excellent value shoulder season, still mostly dry, warm seas and quieter temples.

A 10-day Bali honeymoon itinerary
- Days 1–2
Land · settle into Ubud
Arrange an airport pickup and go straight to Ubud. Spend the first two days deliberately slowly: villa pool, a long couples massage, dinner overlooking the valley.
- Day 3
Temples and rice terraces
Early start with a private driver for Tirta Empul, Tegallalang or the quieter Jatiluwih terraces, and a countryside lunch. Home before the afternoon heat.
- Day 4
Waterfalls or Mount Batur sunrise
Either the Tukad Cepung and Tibumana waterfalls, or the Batur sunrise trek followed by hot springs and an afternoon of nothing.
- Day 5
Transfer to the coast
Drive to Uluwatu, check in to a cliff-side room, and end the day at a Kecak fire dance at the temple as the sun goes down.

Uluwatu beaches and sunsets
Bingin and Padang Padang in the mornings, cliff-edge lunches, and one splurge dinner at a clifftop restaurant with a sunset reservation.

Fast boat to Nusa Lembongan
Cross to the islands for clear water, snorkelling with manta rays off Nusa Penida, and a night in a beach bungalow with no traffic noise.

Cycle or scooter to Dream Beach and Devil's Tear, snorkel the mangroves, and watch sunset from the Ceningan bridge.

How to book a Bali honeymoon
- Book villas directly where you can. Small Balinese villas often give better rates, free airport pickup and honeymoon extras when you email them rather than booking through a platform.
- Arrange a driver, not a car. A private driver for the day costs $45–$60 including fuel and removes the single biggest stress of a Bali trip.
- Pay the tourist levy online first. Do it before you fly and screenshot the QR code — the arrival queue is much slower.
- Limit yourself to two or three bases. Every hotel change costs two to three hours of driving. Fewer moves means more honeymoon.
- Book fast boats in advance for July–August. Gili and Nusa crossings sell out in peak season, and the reliable operators are worth the extra $10.
