St Lucia honeymoon guide

Twin volcanic Pitons, rainforest, warm mud baths and some of the Caribbean's most romantic resorts — with honest numbers on what it costs and where to stay.

St. Lucia honeymoon — Twin Pitons rising straight out of the Caribbean.
Quick answer

A 7-night St Lucia honeymoon costs roughly $6,500 for two at a mid-range resort including US flights, about $3,800 on a budget, and $15,000+ in a Piton-view suite. Go December to May for dry weather, stay at least part of the trip near Soufrière for the Piton views, and budget for transfers — the main airport is over an hour from most romantic hotels.

How much does a St. Lucia honeymoon cost?

St Lucia is a mid-to-high-cost Caribbean island. Flights from the East Coast are short, but Piton-view hotels are priced like the Maldives. Here is a realistic 7-night breakdown for two.

TierFlightsStay (per night)Food & drinkExtras7-night total
Budget (guesthouse / Rodney Bay)$550 pp$150/night$60/day pp$500 (tours, taxis)~$3,800 / couple
Mid-range (all-inclusive)$650 pp$520/night incl. mealsIncluded$900 (Pitons tour, spa)~$6,500 / couple
Premium (Soufrière boutique)$750 pp$800/night$140/day pp$1,200 (private boat, transfers)~$10,500 / couple
Luxury (open-wall Piton suite)$1,500 pp business$1,400/night$180/day pp$1,800 (helicopter, private chef)~$15,000+ / couple

Most resorts add 10% service plus 12.5% VAT to quoted rates. The helicopter transfer from Hewanorra airport to Soufrière (~15 minutes) costs about $200 per person and saves a winding 75-minute drive.

Costs are researched estimates for two travellers and move with season and demand. Compare against our full honeymoon cost guide.

Best time to honeymoon in St. Lucia

St Lucia sits at 80–88°F all year. Rain, hurricanes and price decide the best time.

  • December – April — Dry season and peak demand. Best weather, highest rates — book 6–9 months ahead.
  • May – June — Our value pick: still mostly dry, shoulder rates and quieter resorts.
  • July – August — Hotter, short tropical showers, mid-season pricing. Hurricane risk starts rising.
  • September – November — Wettest months and peak hurricane risk, with the lowest prices. Take travel insurance.

    Sulphur Springs and mud baths

Soak in the drive-in volcano's warm mud pools, then rinse at Toraille Waterfall before lunch.

  3. Day 3

A lazy day on the white sand between the Pitons with reef snorkelling just offshore.

  4. Day 4

    Gros Piton hike (optional)

A guided 4–5 hour climb with island-wide views, or a gentler Tet Paul nature trail instead.

  5. Day 5

    Sail the west coast

A catamaran north to Marigot Bay and Castries with swimming stops and rum punch.

  6. Day 6

    Spa and a slow dinner

How to book a St. Lucia honeymoon

  1. Fly into Hewanorra (UVF), not George Charles. Long-haul flights land at UVF in the south, which is closest to Soufrière.
  2. Split the stay. Three or four nights at a Piton-view hotel plus a few at a beach all-inclusive gives you both experiences without paying suite prices for the whole week.
  3. Ask for honeymoon perks. Most resorts offer room upgrades, sparkling wine or a free dinner with proof of marriage within 6–12 months.
  4. Pre-book transfers. Roads are winding and taxis are fixed-price; arrange airport pickups before you land.
  5. Insure hurricane-season trips. Travel insurance plus a flexible rate is cheap compared to losing a September trip.
